error message at startup

When the desktop loads, I get an error message that
the "dynamic link library can't access a
file....msnp32.dll...microsoft network.
I don't have a network...iut's a stand alone computer. I
also noticed that the icon for "network neighborhood" is
no longer on the desktop.
