Error Message: ICWCONN1 Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module INETCFG.DLL

I am trying to help out a friend running WIN 98. She
wants to connect to the web via her roommates DSL router.
She used to use dial up. Now I am trying to set the PC up
to use a LAN. I choose the Internet Wizard setup and it
prompts how you want to connect. I choose LAN. THen the
next screen I choose LAN too. On this screen when I hit
NEXT I receive the error: Error Message: ICWCONN1 Caused
an Invalid Page Fault in Module INETCFG.DLL.

I actually tried to reinstall Windows 98 only to find that
it kept the same settings!

Any ideas what to do? What is wrong?
