Error: The computer name you chose matches ,, appears on a stand alone system

The error : "The computer name you chose matches the name
of a computer on the network. To change the computer name
double-click Network in Control Panel, and then click the
Identification tab" appears on start or restart after
changing the name in the Identification Tab when the
computer is NOT connected to a network - changing the name
in the identification tab of networking does not resolve
error and ANY name you give the computer produces the
error every time

What can be done to resolve this?
