I am trying to load a network adapter on an older
computer so it can use my internet, too. As it goes
through setup, it almost finishes then comes up with
error 2809. It says the application software may be bad,
but it's an older computer running ME. Any ideas what
this means?

Thanks

Heh, I still have a Pentium I from 1995 running on my
network (yes that's a Pentium before they even had numbers
-- and is sufficently fast as Unix file server).

The error depends on the type of network adapter. What type
of adapter is it, and have you checked in the doc, or with
the manufacturer?

If it says that the "application software may be bad" it
may be a defective disk -- maybe you can download drivers
over the Internet. If it is a card that you put inside the
computer, turn off the computer and make sure the card is
properly inserted -- sometimes it looks that it fits, but
it's only partially in.
