The hotel I use weekly offers an ethernet based broadband access but
the 2 computers are always being used. The hotel's offsite IS guy is
reluctant to add Wi-Fi access as it's not in the budget and probably
lack of know-how. The computers are setup using Win98SE so the users
have no access to the harddrive to install any drivers or other
software. So my question is, can I buy any auto-configuring
bridge/router that will allow me to interface the ethernet connection
with my centrino Dell laptop running XP Pro?

TIA

The hotel I stayed at recently used standard 802.11b. They simply gave us
a PIN # is we had our own wireless equipment and the PIN was good for the
duration of the stay. If we didn't have out own equipment the company
offered what was basically a wireless router for a few dollars a night.

That sounds like http://www.stayonline.net
I reference their client list before I book a hotel when I travel.
