Sorry for what may be a dumb question, but are Entanet resellers (e.g.
fast, ADSL24) classified as Entanet, and therefore members of the ISPA.
I know these companies tend to rate very highly, but having the comfort
of the protection should things go wrong in future is reassuring

I don't think fast are an Entanet reseller because they've been
discussed on various forums before with no connection to Entanet.

ADSL24 are an Entanet reseller according to the Entanet forums on
ThinkBroadband.

Entanet appear to be members of CISAS, but it's not clear if their
resellers / partners are as I guess it depends if Entanet want to take
responsibility for the support their partners offer etc.

Fast are members of CISAS directly for an ADR according to their own
Code of Practice.

Best check with each provider before hand, especially if they're not
signed up to Otelo or Cisas directly as I expect many of the Entanet
ones aren't.

Yep. I just didn't know if legally A was a reseller to B and B was a
member of the ISPA whether it was automatically implied A was a member
too. Thinking about it, A are just agents and my contract is with them

Your contract to reseller you are billed by Entanet, pay to Entanet.

Seems to be messed up situation.

I was charged £5 + ££££ (whatever it is i haven't looked into it)for
exceeding the cap. I informed my RESELLER UKFSN to put me in next cap
which obviously was ignored (that is what you can expect from one man
company) and i ketpt on getting slapped with admin charges and etc....

Now I'm at war with Entanet and sooner or later i'm going after
them(?)

So whom to sue Entanet or UKFSN?

ADASL24 are members of OTELO.Your contract would be to adsl24 but your
payment is to entanet (they dont accept switch or maestro by the way)
by credit card or DD.Fast use the netservices network ,not entanet. In
theory entanet would be able to provide you with a mac code if one of
thier resellers were to misbehave.

I must admit, I tried contacting Jason at UKFSN to upgrade from a PAYG
account to whatever the next one up is and got absolutely no response.

Looks like the re-sellers only commitment to you is up to the point at
which you're activated. After that I had to phone entanet support on an
0870 number to sort out the cockup on them not being able to get my
connection running due to their tech. not being able to enter the
confirmed password correctly so authentication would never happen.

Pet you are my mate in agony ..

And I was sending e-mails after e-mails to Jason..
I would call Entanet to check if they have got ears.

Another mystery is that for this month I already exceeded 5 GB Cap. I
wonder what on the earth I did to eat 5 GB in 8 days.
No downloads just few ftp sessions to upload few of my websites in
other servers and thats is it.

Does any one face such GB drain from Entanet?

Cheers

I'm not really in agony as it's not an issue anymore.
I am sticking with my PAYG Entanet account and will be getting a 2nd
account with UK-Online on our LLU exchange as a main account to replace
my poor excuse for broadband from virgin(on the rediculous)media.

I only sent the one, but wasn't surprised when I didn't get a message
back. I would think going by the huge amount of recommendations UKFSN
was getting and presuming he was a one-man "evening in the bedroom after
work" kind of set-up he would be giving much more attention to new
accounts which make money and would keep giving good feedback rather
than old accounts that are just swallowed up and taken care of by the
entanet hat.

I had to pay £2 extra for last months usage as I exceeded the 3GB
inclusive allowance under PAYG with each GB @ £1 !
This was more to do with having to shut down my cable connection during
the day as it keeps dropping out, losing packets and causing VOIP to
fail miserably.

> Does any one face such GB drain from Entanet?

My bandwidth usage is extremely frugal, and that's using the internet to
provide here in the shop with 2 fairly active PC's and VOIP etc.
Most traffic for us is simple e-mail. and web browsing. very little in
the way of large downloads.
I would say last months usage at a mere 5GB total was slightly less than
I would have thought, so no other complaints here.

Good luck in getting some sort of contact.
That highlights why it is never a good idea to do business with any
company that doesn't have a landline.
It's a pretty good indication that the company is a "part time" company
which will offer a part-time service.

All said, Entanet themselves seem to eliminate the need for much in the
way of communications as their QOS WRT providing a reliable service
(once connected) ensures ALL resellers are going to get good press.

Cheers
Pete

I use adsl24(entanet) and havent had any drain at all.Adsl24 do provide
an area where you can check your usage, and max reports(ip profile
speeds) basically as they happen.Im sure there are some bad resellers
but from my experience so far adsl24 is not one of them.
