After some struggling to setup a VPN solution on a Win2003Server I finally
manage, however I now have run into a new problem with Messenger correlating
(I think) to this.

To be able to have the VPN solution to work I must open my firewall to
forward PPTP traffic to the VPN server (which works fine).
However now MS-Messenger (ver7.0 and 7.5 tested) logs out from time to time
(independent if any VPN tunnel is used or not) on all PC’s behind the
firewall.

Have found some info regarding older versions of MS-Messenger and file or
sound transfer could have this effect in a NAS-firewall solution. But know
this happened even if MS-Messenger not is in use, but logged in.

Which problems did you have regarding vnp on the 2003 server? I cannot
connect from a wan client: the server starts to validate uder id and passw.
and nothing else happens....the server times out (not respinding to the wam
client).

How did You manage the problem?
