How to Enable Protection on Netgear WGR614 ?

I just bought a Netgear WGR614 802.11g Router. How do I enable
whatever encryption I can to stop outsiders from accessing my
network/internet? I don't really know anything about WEP/WPA so talk
to me like a newbie.

Also, once enabled, how do I allow Myself to use the network/internet?

Please read the manual first.

WEP and WPA (for simplicity) are password-based encryption. Just type in the
exact same password in both the router setup and the PC/PCI card setup and
they can communicate.

forget that, i figured it out.

its in the web-interface.
