Embedded system - how to be an NFS server?

Hello,

I want to use an old 486 box (Cx486 @ 40 Mhz, 8 Mb) as NFS server. It shall
take recordings from a linux digital tv receiver (exactly a Sagem D-Box 2).

The kernel is the last 2.2 series I could find (2.2.36), because 2.4 takes
almost 700 Kb more memory for itself. Since there is no swapping, I have to
free as much as I can.
/dev/hda is a 32 Mb Compact Flash to IDE card and I'm using busybox and lilo
(more binaries aren't on the box). Both are statically linked and work over
the serial console (nothing else is compiled).

The kernel has the knfsd compiled, but I don't know how to set up an NFSv3
server. Does anybody have ressources about how to do it and/or can explain
it to me what I need?

I can't compile the nfs-utils-0.1.5.tar.gz on my development machine
(coLinux with Debian 3.0 inside).

Regards,

Sebastian

Can you be a bit more specific, what are the problems?
If I'm on your place I would try with some older version of Slackware on
that machine.
