Email collection & sending on Windows Mobile 6.5

My email set-up is currently as follows:

I have three domains registered with 123-reg.com, and I forward them all to
gMail, from where I collect them and reply to them with Outlook 2003 on my
desktop. Outlook allows me to send emails using the domain identities, so
the recipients see (E-Mail Removed) in the from and reply fields rather
than (E-Mail Removed).

I've now got a Windows mobile phone - HTC HD2 - and want to collect my
emails there as well. The problem is that gMail, once it's allowed one
application (say, Outlook) to collect emails, won't then provide that same
email to another application (my phone). Further, my phone doesn't appear
to allow me to specify a different sender's email address.

So, my thinking is that I find another mailbox to which I can copy my emails
from the 123-reg control panel, and collect the emails on the phone using
this. However, I need to be able to specify the sender's email address, and
while I'd ideally like three, I can live with one. That said, I do only
want ONE mailbox on the phone.

Am I farting against thunder here, or is this possible? In which case, I'd
be hugely grateful for any advice as to how!

Many thanks.

Using IMAP instead of POP will sort this bit.

Can you not set up a mail account on the phone to collect the mail
directly, rather than going via gmail?

Why forward them via gmail?

It's possible that I'm making this more complicated than necessary.
However, I want to be able to keep a permanent, offline record of all
incoming & outgoing emails on my desktop, hence using POP collection there.
However, I might experiment with setting up IMAP on the phone and see if
that does the trick.

Any thoughts on whether I can specify my own domain email address rather
than the @gmail.com one?

Cheers

OK, IMAP on the phone sorts the primary problem of allowing emails to be
collected on both machines, so many thanks.

Now, if only I could work out how to set up different identities in the same
mailbox...

Cheers

The gMail implementation of POP3 is, shall we say, non-standard.
Check out using the "recent:" modifier on your account name when
collecting via POP3. Details in the gMail help I hope.
