Is there anyone using this company and if so what like is the service?
I'm thinking about subscribing to either EFH
http://www.efhbroadband.com/packages.asp
or Freedom2surf http://www.freedom2surf.net
what's the general feeing about these 2 companies?

Mike

Well EFH are making a heavy loss on their connections as they have to
actually pay BT more than £9.99 per month that they are charging you, so I
wouldn't bother going with them as they certainly won't be here in 12
months.

I use freedom2surf, top notch service.

over last 48 hours and all questions where answered very fast and to my
satisfaction,EFH 's parent company has been around since '97
so the chances of them being around in 12 months time is just as good as
f2s's .I had considered f2s but i wasnt impressed by their
presales email response times and hey EFH has NO cap unlike f2s so download
heaven here i come,oh and its 3p cheaper a month then
f2s as well ,check out their forum, also no regrade fee at moment to move
from 512 to 1mb, sweet.

freedom2surf have been around since 1997 and have been providing internet
service since then. EFH's parent company may have been around since 1997 but
they've never provided Internet Access Services.

freedom2surf are a legitimate company that price their products at
sustainable margins.

As I have previously said, the charges that they levy are loss making, it
costs them a lot more to provide a line than you are paying, does that not
worry you? There is no way they can surivive on the prices they are selling
things for, particuarly the 512K.

Why should it worry him? If they go bust just sign up with someone else.

There are complications with that though. Because the ISP have to order
broadband on the users line through BT, if the ISP goes bust, it could be
quite a hard job to get the old ISP off the line to get a new one on. As the
request to remove ADSL from the line and from it pointing to the ISP's
radius servers has to come from the ISP itself.

Their connection fee is hefty £82.24, paid upfront ofcourse, so the total
first 12month cost isn't that much cheaper then other ISP's.
Seems to me they are trying to build up customer base and brand name so they
provide the service at no profit for time being.

Martin
