I am using a Dimension 4100 with an on board
ethernet card, Intel I believe. The following is the
error message I am getting from the syslog.
This problem is ruining my Linux experience.

Oct 18 14:52:48 debian kernel: eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!

Oct 18 14:53:12 debian last message repeated 25 times

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: Transmit timed out: status 0050 0c80
at 111/139 command 000c0000.

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: Tx ring dump, Tx queue 139 / 111:

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: 0 200c0000.

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: 1 000c0000.

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: 2 000c0000.

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: 3 000c0000.

Oct 18 14:53:15 debian kernel: eth0: 4 000c0000.

Linux is about learning how computers work, and both you and I will learn
from this challenge.

If you want to be an appliance-operator, go back to Windoze.

A real good idea in a case like this is to hit the Usenet archives and
plug in the key strings above along with debian.

http://groups.google.com

Put any strings with spaces in them in " ".
