Try using net use /d from a command to clear all your mapped connections. You can also disconnect the mapped drive in Windows Explorer by right-click the mapped drive and select disconnection.

Hello Giuseppe, thanks for your answer.
First I want to remark that this behavior also happens from my laptop or another machine in the network that has no mapped drivers/printers or anything, hence I'm not sure that this could be the reason.
Secondly when running net use /d as you describe nothing happens apart from "The synthax for this command is ....." followed by some examples.
I suppose the /d option is not understood.
Does this mean that it is not possible to edit permissions remotely when drives are mapped? With W2K server this was no problem.
