I will be setting up a wireless network within the 2 months or so. I
will have a cable modem (to the internet) connecteed to a wireless
router. The main computer will be thru a wired connection to the router
with a notebook connected wirelessly via wireless PC card to the router.
A pretty standard setup.

Having never done this before, I was wondering how email is routed to
the machine which request/sends it. Specifically, I assume that:

1. The wireless router has my actual IP address to the internet

2. Each machine has its own local IP address

3. Even if both machines are on and using the mail client (i.e.,
Netscape), the router will send in (or out) the requested email to the
requesting machine. I assume there would be no conflict other than my
having to keep track of which machine has recceived which mail (I would
set the laptop to leave the mail on the server).

Am I correctly understanding this or have I missed something important?

Thanks,
Harvey

No, you haven't missed anything. That is pretty much how it works with
any network, wired or not wired.
