DWL-900ap+ repeating a router in another building

I have a DWL-900AP+ Revision B which I've flashed with the 2.61
powerhack firmware.

I'm trying to repeat a router in a building about 300 feet from me. My
linksys WUSB11 adapter can connect to this router intermittently and
was hoping that the 900AP+ would have more power and a better antenna
than a USB adaptor and I could use it in repeater mode to boost
signal.

I've placed it in a window and tried a reflector toward the building
to boost signal but i'm unable to get a good link. The log states that
im sucessfully repeating the router and my notebook is connecting to
the 900ap+ sucessfully however i cannot get a response. I have pinged
the router once sucessfully but that's very sporadic. the notebook
wireless states that the connection is excellent so i think the
problem is between the 900AP+ and the linksys router in the other
building.

Any ideas? i've read the 2.5 firmware works better. anyone have much
success with the reflectors found at www.freeantennas.com? how about
the cantenna? supposedly the reflectors are better but i haven't had
much sucess with the reflectors. even with netstumbler i dont see much
of an improvement in signal strength using my WUSB11.

Is there a way to measure the signal strength that the 900AP is seeing
from the outside router?

thanks

Hi
Remember with the reflector you might have to point slightly to one
side of the antenna you are aiming at, depending how well you built
it.
In my house with 3ft stone walls I have positioned my APs where they
can't link and added a reflector to one of them. With the reflector
there is nowhere in the house I can't get a signal ( house is long and
thin)
Cheers
