DWL-900AP+ firmware upgrades

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any utilities that can change the firmware in
this AP without using either the D-Link Airplus manager program or the web
interface?

The reason is I updated the firmware through the web interface to 2.6 and
the AP has stopped responding to everything. No ping replies. No web
interface. I have scanned it with nmap which returned nothing at all.

The only signs of life are the usual LED flashes and using a packet sniffer,
the normal broadcast replies from it to the UDP port 27755 when using the
Airplus manager program. The program displays an error whenever you try and
change a setting though... The AP only shows up in version 2.5 of the
Airplus manager program, and it shows up with an incorrect MAC address.

Have I killed it? What are my chances on returning it to the place of
purchase to be fixed?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks, Barry

When you upgrade the 900ap+ tho 2.6 firmware it return to the default
settings (ip 192.168.0.50 ). Change the ip of your computer, and connect to
http://192.168.0.50 if you can't, power on your ap pressing the reset button
for about 20-30 sec, after that at http://192.168.0.50 you can view an
firmware upload page only, where you can put the new firmware.

I have tried resetting and resetting and resetting... Also tried power
cycleing etc. I'm not sure what else to try.

The web interface doesn't work. I think something in the firmware must've
been corrupt

Had the very same problem with my DWL-2000AP....
Tried resets etc. - no go.

Left it powered off (unplugged) overnight and in the morning it eventually
appeared at http://192.168.0.50 (having set my PC's IP address to
192.168.0.x to talk to the AP)....and I could then re-configure the AP O.K.
It works fine but the WLAN LED does not light any more.... looks like a bug
in the firmware? I expect a future version will fix it.... <hope>

I think D-Link need to do a bit of work on their firmware... my cheapo
Kobian?Mercury router has been updated 4 times without a single hiccup.

Have you found any solution?

I'm in the same situation, the firmware 2.6 has killed my access point
and I'm also without internet (I need my bridge working for this)

My dwl-900ap+ is dead!

When you upgrade the firmware on a DWL-900, it resets to factory default
settings. RTFM.

No, not in this case. I was in the same situation of Bary:

" ... The program displays an error whenever you try and
change a setting though... The AP only shows up in version 2.5 of the
Airplus manager program, and it shows up with an incorrect MAC
address. ..."

MANY THANKS to Bigguy: after "Left it powered off (unplugged)
overnight" "in the morning it eventually appeared at
http://192.168.0.50" !!!

RTFM... interesting; you try this: WLARMP (write less acronym, read
more posts)
