Bought a DWL 650+ card six months ago. Worked fine until recently.
Began causing freeze-ups on my Dell Latitude. Mouse would freeze and
system stop. Found that if I move the card it would immediately begin
to respond. Tried the other PCMCIA slot.... same result. Tried the
card in a Fujitsu laptop... same result (can't be the card slot or the
computer... must be an electrical connection in the card). Contacted
D-Link, and they sent a replacement. Now the real mystery... the
replacement card does the exact same thing! I have to
twist the card slightly for the system to un-freeze and the card light
to come back on! It's the same in both laptops! I have another
wireless card (generic brand) and it works fine in both machines.
Can't find any other posts which identify a similar problem. How is
it possible to have two cards with the same issue? Any help would be
appreciated! Jeff
