DWL-650 ThinkPad 570 Windows 98

I've tried everything I can think of to get my DWL-650 running on a
ThinkPad 570 with Windows 98, but no luck.

The card is recognised correctly by the device manager, but I keep
getting the following error message:

"NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loaders for this device could not load
the device driver (Code 2)"

I've tried everything I can think of when installing including
ignoring the CD and just using the driver after a new hardware
detection.

Any help would be really appreciated!

FWIW, I had trouble installing a DWL-G630 on my TP 770Z/W98SE machine, I had
to download the same driver that's on the CD from their website and that
worked.

From what I can see, the DWL-650 supports W98SE and up, are you running
plain W98?
