Yes, as long as you have a fair bit of Linux knowledge. You could
certainly use a slug (Linksys NSLU2) to attach a USB2 DVD writer to
your network. You'd have to flash the slug with the Unslung or OpenSlug
firmware, then there are several linux command line tools ( eg
dvdrtools, dvd+rw-tools ) you can use to write the DVD. Have a look
through the wiki at
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/ for some ideas. If you
really want to go the whole way you could then modify one of the
desktop burner front ends such as k3b to issue the burning commands
over ssh to the slug.
