dual nics break MS network browsing

Hi all,
Having problems with dual nics. I have 4 servers, 3 w/ 2000Svr, 1 w/
2003svr. They has 10/100 nics in them and they go to a 100MB cisco
switch. Cisco switch has 2 - 1GB fiber links that extend out to two
more cisco switches. So we have a nice 100MB full duplex network. Here
was my idea: I wanted to create a totally separate 1GB network, that
only connects to an Infrant 1.6TB NAS. It has a GB nic in it, and I
wanted to utilize it along with Jumbo frames. So I bought new 64bit PCI
1GB NICS for my servers, and an 8 port GB switch. I installed the new
GB nics in our servers and gave them static IP's; separate from the
static's on the 100 nics.
Here is my problem. As soon as I install the 1GB nics in the servers,
it breaks Microsoft Network Browsing. They are not even plugged into
the switch yet!. As soon as they are disabled, I can then browse.
Weird. Anyways here are my ip schemes:
Server 1
100MB network cards = ip = static 192.168.10.200
Snm =255.255.255.0 DG 192.168.10.99
DNS 192.168.10.201, 203
WINS 192.168.10.201
1000GB network cards = ip=static 192.168.168.100
Snm 255.255.255.0
DG 192.168.168.1
DNS none
WINS 192.168.168.168
Server2
100MB network cards = ip = static 192.168.10.201
Snm =255.255.255.0 DG 192.168.10.99
DNS 192.168.10.201, 203
WINS 192.168.10.201
1000GB network cards = ip=static 192.168.168.101
Snm 255.255.255.0
DG 192.168.168.1
DNS none
WINS 192.168.168.168

Infrant Ready NAS 1.6= ip=static 192.168.168.168
Snm 255.255.255.0
DG 192.168.168.1
DNS none
WINS 192.168.168.168
Is there a way to isolate my GB network from the 100mb network? Why
does adding a second nic break MS network browsing?
Any help from you network gurus would really help out!

Option1:
use a different ip subnet on the gigabit network [since it sounds like you
are trying to create a homegrown SAN]

Option2:
create vlans. One for your public network and one for the giga/san network

It will probably still break MS browsing unless you disable Netbios over
TCP/IP on the second NIC. The browser service is an NT legacy app and uses
Netbios names and broadcasts (and WINS if you have it installed). Multihomed
browsers were a problem in NT and they still are!
