Dual card access point configuration

Hi,
I have a Compaq WL510 AP (aka AP-1000) with two pcmcia slots.
I inserted a second wifi card, and i'd like to have some hints on the
configuration:
1. Is it possible to have the 2 cards serving the same network (network with
the same name)?
2. The first card is set to channel 10. Should be the second one on the same
channel, or on a distant one (to avoid interference)?
3. There's a parameter called "Distance Between AP's" on the config panel.
It can be Large, Medium, Small. I've read somewhere that it changes the
reception sentitivity. With 2 cards that close, should i modify this
parameter?

Yes.

Use 1,6, or 11 to prvent overlap.

Use directional panel antennas on each radio and point them away from each
other.
