DSLW 906E unreliability?

Hi, we've recently got one of these. It hung up today in some
terminal way - couldn't ping it at all, power cycling it fixed it.
This would be bad if it happened often as we often work away from home
& rely on access to our real machines, and we can't reboot it
remotely... Does anyone have any experience of these things, and in
particular know if they're generally reliable?
