Hi

I am currently using ADSL via a SpeedTouch DSL Modem and a software
proxy server for my LAN. To improve security and efficiency, I would
like to install a hardware rounter/firewall with built in DSL modem. I
had been looking at the Netgear DG834 but having heard of its' FTP port
21 problems (to mention but one) I have gone off it!

Can anyone suggest a suitable and reliable product? I have been looking
at D-Link but their website leaves a lot to be desired! Products on
Dabs do not even seem to be mentioned on their own site!

I would be grateful if anyone could suggest a decent one...

Thanks

Paul

I've found the Belkin 4-port cable/DSL router (F5D5320-4) very reliable. It
was also easy to set up. Has a built-in firewall.

To use with an ADSL line (as a replacement for the SpeedTouch DSL (usb?)
modem) - the OP would need the Belkin 7630, not the 5320 model..

I ordered one yesteday myself from http://www.ebuyer.com/ for just over
£70..

One Not to get as it doesn't meet you spec's

Origo 1 or 4 port router from ebuyer, has issues with:

- limited port forwading
- if using the New firewall firmware, dropped/stale telnet/ftp/p2p/msn
sessions

One I would if I could afford it, the Vigor 2600 or the latest equivilant @

Sorry should have mentioned this includes wireless support as well.

Belkin don't do a "plain" ADSL modem.
