All suggestions gratefully received concerning the following problem :-
I run a belkin wireless router (F5D6230-3) with BY broadband and one wired
PC (WinXP home), one wireless PC (using a belkin USB wirless adapter and
WIN98) and an ACER Centrino laptop (Intel 2100 3B minicard and WinXP prof).
Both the desktop PCs (wired & wireless) share files and internet
successfully - the problem is with the laptop.
I have tried various channels and configurations (DHCP, fixed IP, WEP on and
off etc.) but the Acer will only ever connect for 10 mins or so before the
wireless connection pops up as being lost in the sysytem tray - and nothing
will resume it except a reset of the Belkin router, and then the cycle
continues!
I am now at a loss for ideas after scouring various newsgroups and forums -
has enyone encountered this problem with a similar setup. Can anyone
suggest further avenues of investigation? I'm assuming the Intel adapter
aint broken because it does actually work intermittently when the router is
reset without rebooting the laptop. I'm considering buying a different
brand of wireless router in desparation since I don't know personally anyone
else to borrow different hardware from.
HELP :-)
(thanks)
