dropped connection

I have a cable modem and a wireless router hooked up to my computer. The
router is used to broadcast a signal to my wife's computer. Lately I have
been plagued by dropped signals. I am able to recover the signal by turning
off the router and then turning it on again and having windows do a repair.
I am using windows vista ultimate. Any solutions to this problem? The
router passed all tests from microsofts evaluation tool.

You can try two remedies.
1. Change the transmission channel of the Wireless part of the Router, try
all channel and keep the one that yields the best results.
2. In the laptop Log to Vista advanced Power Saving and get the Network
cards out of the Power Saving loop.
