I'm interested in your opinions on the merits or possible
repercussions of mapping a server share to the A: drive letter on a
local w/s. I saw this at a client site and was curious what purpose
this would server. btw, the w/s had a floppy, but I have no idea what
it's drive letter was. My question is "Why A:", and not the normal
F:, G: and so on.

To act as a fake floppy drive, I imagine - using the SUBST command.
