I have Windows 2003 network with Windows XP client. From
all the client I have one user who is having an issue
accessing resources through my network places.
What is happening, through my network places created
network place for the user to access resources from the
network \\servername\Data\share. Accessing resources
with this setup is extremely slow. And I am not sure
why. Please help.

For the same resouce I have mapped a drive to the network
resource G:\\servername\Data\share. This is working and
it is very fast. Can someone tell me, if one of them is
using Wins or DNS or something. Why it is slow.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Yes. What does that mean? How does that affect mapping
vs. UNC?
