Downloading updates

I am able to download the notebook adapter to my notebook,
but when I try & download to my other computer, it says
the base station cannot be update wireless; connect the
router directly to the computer or update via another
computer.

Any direction is appreciated.

It means exactly that, you must have a *wired* connection to the
basestation.
