Download statistics program?

Can anyone recommend a (preferably free) utility program that would
keep daily records of how much data I've downloaded please?

This is prompted by my getting a message yesterday, 17th April, from
my news service, Forte APN, that I'd used up my 2 GB limit for my
first month since signing up. My account was therefore suspended
immediately. I'd like to avoid being taken by surprise next time. (One
arbitrary 4 MB MP3, idly selected on a whim, presumably prevented the
far more important operation of reading my newsgroups!)

As a curious side issue, the APN email message said that automatic
renewal would take place at the start of the 2nd month - 17th April!
I'm waiting for a reply to my email asking why it was therefore
suspended at all...

Hi there,

I haven't used this myself, but will give it a try later.

Hi there,

I have not used this myself, but will probably give it a try later.

You could use Newsrover Pro to download your newsgroup info. It has a
counter built in, which will tell you exactly how much you have downloaded.
You can then reset the counter at the beginning of each month.

Thanks Luke. But both programs seem to be directed at system
administrators and developers. I'm really looking for a relly simple,
seamless utility.

Thanks, but in general I'm happy enough with APN. Maybe I'll suggest
they add such a facility too.
