Download Speed reduced??!!

Hello everyone ,

I've link my 2 wireless router together for a better coverage all over
my house & currently i'm connected to the 2nd router.

My surfing speed is still the same but my download speed has been
reduced by 30 times. My internet speed is 3mbps but now my dl speed is
only 10kbps. I'm wondering is there anyway to bump up my download speed
again ??

What sort of hardward do you have and how it configured and hooked up?
Do you regain your speed if you connect to the first router?
