double the speed when teaming network cards with NLB ?

Hi everyone,

I have a 2003 Server R2, 64 bits version, which has 2 networkcards each
connected to a 1GB switch.
When I team the cards with NLB, should the virtual team card be double the
speed? so 2GB?
I ask this because my server just shows 1GB while I would expect the double
speed.
I also saw that when for example I start a file copy from another server,
during the process only 1 of those teamed cards is used.
A different one each time though. Is that normal?

Thx for taking the time to read and taking the time to help me out here :-)

Remco

Hello Remco" -,

Do you use teaming software for it? What hardware vendor do you have?

Hello Remco" -,

We are using HP servers and there on the teaming settings we can change a
lot of settings. In our case the teaming is set to automatic for Load balancing
and we can see the 2Gb on the team.

Can I use the NLB functionality of Server 2003 to team those cards also?
Or do I need to use the Broadcom software ?
