Hi,
I am a beginner and i have a question.
I have a ADSL connection witha dynamic public IP.
I wanted to know it this is possible with linux:

WAN -> Router (D-Link) -> Server Squid -> LAN

My router does the NAT, but what do I have to do if I want that the server
squid is switched on (for now I have a simpe WAN -> Router -> LAN and of
course there is now problem).
Could somebody be so nice to tell me what I have to do to let it work ?

Thanks a lot

Do you mean that your squid server is to sit between all your LAN hosts
and your router? Do you want do have transparent proxying (ugh)? What
about other protocols and applications, such as POP3, IMAP, SMTP, FTP,
VPN, etc.?

Is that "there is no problem" or "there is now a problem"?

It's not clear [to me] what you want to do. You mentioned double nat in
the subject header but you haven't referred to it anywhere in the
message.

Puzzled,
Chris

I have a similar setup. It works without any problem. I recall posting a
similar question previously on this group - Google tells me it was on 26
December 2002. Basically, it just works. At the time I see I had some
puzzling problems but that everything going through proxies was fine,
including squid.
