Dos and Broadband

I have some good dos programmes. To open them while broadband is enabled
this program takes a while to open. But if I disable boadband it will run
very well; no delays.
Why is this??
Anybody got an idea why??

old computer with slow processor and not much memory? in any case,
try one of the general newsgroups for your operating system.
