I purchased my computer from a company that has recently
gone out of business. It was set up for a network of
computers and I now only have the one. Do I need
networking? If not how do I "undo" it? Sorry really
really new to the computer world! My husban and I use the
same computer and sometimes I have problems shutting down
because we're logged on another name? I don't know how
that started. Please help thank you.

Start here and see if it fixes your issues:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;152104

If not drop back in, we can suggest other fixes that are a bit more complex
but may work if the simple approach doesn't.
