Quick question - i'm looking at a domain name that is currently in
suspension, the registration ran out in June.

Would I be right that the earliest it could be re-registered is 97
days after it expired ? (going by the renawal page at nominet)

ground zero - date of expiry
7 days - invoice issued
30 days - if invoice not paid, it enters suspension
60 days - suspension ends, domain cancelled & reavailable

Thanks

Possibly, although there are a number of exceptions to this and normally it
takes longer than that.
e.g. if a domain is registered to a limited company and the company no
longer exists, the domain name might disappear very quickly.

There is a lot of drop catching for .uk domains now by domainers so you will
be lucky to get it if its listed in any search engines.

Thanks Gordon - i'm not too bothered if I manage to get it, it was
more of a passing thought about a local pub that does decent cheap
food, and plenty of "fun" stuff through the month...

It's currently held by an Australian for some reason...
