After replacing a motherboard on a Win2003 Enterprise svr the following
message appears when trying to logon to the domain again: "The system cannot
log you on due to the following error: The name or Security ID (SID) of the
domain specified is inconsistent with the information from that domain.
Please try again or consult your system administrator." I tried to leave and
the rejoin the domain but this did not help. TIA for any help on this one.

1. Move the machine back to a Workgroup (don't forget the local Admin
password).
2. Right-click on the Machine Account in AD and slelect "Reset Account"
3. Try to rejoin it again.

If that doesn't work,...then try deleting the Account in step #2,..then
re-join the domain.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried resetting and deleting the computer account
in AD but for some reason the error persists. Are there any other things I
can try ?
