Domain Group Policy Errors

When we open the Domain Group Policy in
our Win2K Active Directory controller, a lot
of errors pop up. Errors saying that "The following
entry in the [strings] section is too long and has been
truncated."

Every time we open the Domain Group Policy,
these errors come up. We keep clicking on "Ok"
to get past it and be able to drill down a policy
tree.

What can we do?

Thanks in advance.

There are several possible causes for this error. Often it results after
using Administrative Tools on an XP machine to view Group Policies in a
Win2k domain. There is a patch you can run on the Windows 2000 server which
will usually fix it:

Is it Small Business Server?

I dont think this is an issue as i have the same problem on at least ten
servers. I believe that the descriptions that Small business server uses and
possibly some third party vendors exceed the limit and this is simply a
warning.

Doug,

Thanks. I used the patch and it worked.
Yes, I introduced the problem when I
used an XP machine to edit the Domain
Group Policy of our Win2K Active Directory.
