Hi,
My network has two Dcs and several fileservers, last week one of the DCs
with windows 2000 Server had a crash.

Before the crash i had all the servers with windows 2003 server except the
one that went down.
I reinstall the crashed Server with MS Windows server 2003 R2, give im the
same name, the same network configuration and promote it to DC.

Now i have two major problems.

This is a normal domain, a forest funcion level of 2003 native with DNS and
DHCP that i raised the funcion level after the restore.

1. I can access shares from inside my lan, but not from two machitosh with
OS Tiger, i already unbind and bind the macs to the domain again, but
nothing. They can access other windows 2003 servers shares and UAMvolume on
the server but nothing else.

2. I also have a VPN concentrator, i cant access shares on that same server
from the web vpn.

Could it be authentication problems?

any ideias?

Thanks in advanced.

If you did not cleanup metadata in Active Directory after the crash, this
may be the source of your problems - See:

Hi Doug,

Thanks for answering my questions.

I have read the article 216498 and runned metadata cleanup, i did not erase
anything because all entries are correct. Remember that i have reinstalled
the DC and then promoted him again with the same name and settings.
I have check the event viewer for errors and nothing!
I have enable netbios over TCP/IP and still nothing.

any sugestions?
