Two weeks ago my Veritas backup program stopped working. The event logs
showed that it no longer had the correct logon priveleges. I researched
Symnatecs website and made changes to the default Domain Controller policy,
and Default domain policy. Both sets of changes were in the local
policies/user rights assignment key. Since then my domain has been acting
very erratic. Sometime people can not get to network printers, cannot access
shares they were able to previously. today I created a new shared directory
and moved some documents. Since I created the share I have full access. I
gratned full access to a new group I created. The users in that group cannot
even open the share. If I grant the same individual users full control of
the share it is slightly better. They can map the share, open documents; but
when they open word or excel documents they open as read only files. Does
someone know of a default set of permissions I could use or have some other
idea where to go next. This is a domain with four remote offices and over
100 users. Rebuilding the domain is not an option at this point.
