Hi

This scenario is first time for me. Wondering if one server at domain site
is enough? Planning to offer this to our new client. Having a meeting with
them after 10 days.

Current situation:
Two physically separated offices having multiple or none workgroups, some
shared folders (not very smartly implemented), no shared printers. ISP mail
and Sites can't see each over. Quite new PCs but the SW is not homogenous. No
School licensing model (they didn't knew that they met the requirements)
Site A 8 workers (main office)
Site B 5 workers

Need
Typical Cenralized domain solution: AD and Exchange (shared calender) and
homogenous SW. Document management and archieving. Centraliced
administration. Ppropably Fixed VPN between sites.

MY PLAN (School Agreement SW):

Site A
2003 srv std and 2003 exchange std installed in one server. Shared files and
printers, etc. (everything) on that. WSs joined to domain. Office Outlook.

Site B
WSs joined to domain. No server. Office Outlook.

Networking
8/3 Mbit DSL line in both sites. Fixed FW to FW IPSec network. Outlook Web
Access for remote workers.

Questions regarding Site B
Will the bootup time be slow?
Will the email be slow on Site B (no DC)
Shared files on the server be slow to open?
Shared printers, slow to open?

Question regarding Site B
- SW prices are not relevant.
- Will abowe solution work fine?
- If not what is the next level plan to implement server network?
- I'm not familiar with solutions having two sites but perhaps we need
another server on Site B. What will it role to be thinking SW installation?
- If server on Site B. Can the HW be cheep? Smallest server with two
mirrored dirives?

Please help me?

Sounds like a job for SBS, with another server/dc at the remote site.
5 is the difficult number when its hard to provide a server but slow if you
don't. There isn't a right answer for 5 people, you jsut have to decide
what's right for you. You could treat all 5 as remote access workers to the
main site, or as a separate site.

Thaks Anthony

In School Agreement pruduct schema there is no SBS available. Only 2003 std
or graiter. If I have to place a server also on Site B also what are the main
principles while configuring it?
