Domain and DOS

we run a factroy and recently upgraded our domain server
and OS from NT4.0 to Server2003. Most of the machines in
the office run windows of some ilk and in general there
were no problems migrating the domain. However some of the
machines in the factory run DOS boxes and this is where my
problem lies. When using setup from NetBeui on the dos
boxes there is no sign of the domain although before the
migration this was not a problem. I've worked around the
problem for the moment by setting up a workgroup on one of
the boxes inside which the DOS boxes have no problem
"seeing". Does anyone know what might be causing my problem???

Windows Server 2003 doesn't have NetBEUI, it is not supported by MS.

1. 2003 doesn't run NetBUEI unless you added it.

2. Older clients (Win95, NT4 pre-SP3, DOS) cannot communicate with a 2003
domain by default. Unix, Linux, and MACs will probably have the same
problem.

Logs On to Windows Server 2003 Domain

You can either follow this article, or setup a NT4 or Win200 Domain with a
full trust to your 2003 domain and then let the DOS Client log into the
older domain and access the 2003 Domain through it.
