Not in theory - if you can navigate to the connections panel, you should be
able to see all your possible connections, so unless the NTL install deleted
hardware it was superseding there should be no problem.
OTOH many devices (e.g. Scanners, printers, modems etc.) require that you
install software FIRST before plugging in the device.
E.g. my camera. If I install its software then it comes up as a slide show
etc., if not it is just an attached drive with jpegs on it (useful for
emergencies at someone elses house).
