i have wireless-g base station and i was wondering if my
router has some sort of firewall thing because i use a
software called gamespy and i can only sign on once out
of 30 tries and i was wondering if the router had a
firewall that was blocking the connection.
if it does please tell me how to fix it.
thanx.

Yes, if you're running either the MN-500 or MN-700 router, you've got a
firewall in place. I would check GameSpy support to see if they have
issues, and to verify your setup for whatever game you're attempting to
play. Each game normally has incoming and outgoing ports which need to be
opened. You can also get info on the games you're running by going directly
to their web sites. Most even have discussion boards.

yes your mn-700 does have a firewall. you can't
completely disable it, but you can open up ports to allow
games and data to be accessed. The instructions on on the
cd that came with the router. You access the port
forwarding commands on the routers Broadband Network
Utility.
