Does my hardware firewall need to be PPPoA ?

Hi

I have the following set up. A Speedtouch 510 modem router connected
to two PCs. Each PC can access the internet using static IPs provided
by my ISP. I would like to add a hardware firewall to this setup but
I'm unsure whether the firewall needs to have PPPoA functionality (my
current connection uses PPPoA via the 510). It seems that a lot of
firewalls only have PPPoE. Will this pose a problem? I plan to connect
the firewall between my PC's and the router and eventually set up NAT.

Thanks in advance.

Your Speedtouch 510 has a firewall built in, albeit a bit of a pain to
configure...

PPPoA and PPPoE are protocols used on the ADSL side of an ADSL modem -
You intend to plug the hardware firewall into the Ethernet side of the
router so PPPoA/PPPoE isn't relevant.
