I have finally secured my network and the adapter mentioned above does not
seem capable of joining the network. Any ideas would be appreciated

I am having the same type of problem. I enable the WEP security and my
wireless computers can not connect to the base station. I am running XP and
the 510 installation does say that there are known problems with the
operating system. I may not have the updated service pack.

I was advised to use the WPA encryption & I am pretty sure the MN-510
Wireless USB Adapter will not work with that level of encryption. I ended up
buying another USB adapter for $8.00 & it works.
