I am not wirless expert..but i think that because win xp has built in
support for wireless networking, they are "upgrading" it to work with
some of the newer access points that use WPA instead of WEP. You can
download the update, as it will surly work with both WPA and WEP, so
if your using wep now it will continue to work and if you use WPA
later, it will work also. this is assuming that your not using the
software tha came with your wireless adapter. if you are using
software that came with the adapter, then this update will not make
any diff to you.
