Wireless Update Rollup Package for Windows XP. This update provides updated
support for Wireless Protected Access.

This update provides support for Wireless Protected Access, a new
standards-based wireless security solution developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
WPA is intended to replace the existing Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
standard, offering much more robust methods of encryption and authentication
and resulting in a new level of protection for customers taking advantage of
the wireless features of Windows XP. For more information about this update,
read Knowledge Base Article 826942.

I am not wirless expert..but i think that because win xp has built in
support for wireless networking, they are "upgrading" it to work with
some of the newer access points that use WPA instead of WEP. You can
download the update, as it will surly work with both WPA and WEP, so
if your using wep now it will continue to work and if you use WPA
later, it will work also. this is assuming that your not using the
software tha came with your wireless adapter. if you are using
software that came with the adapter, then this update will not make
any diff to you.
