What does this mean?

In a Networking info box I see:

No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device. ...

What on earth does that mean?

1. No driver files are required?

2. No driver files are required [because they] have been loaded?

3. No driver files ... have been loaded?

Does your computer run OS/2? If so, I don't think this is the right
news group for your question.

If your computer runs Windows 98, please reply to this message in the
news group (not by E-mail) with more information to help other people
understand the problem:

What do you mean by "Networking info box"? What did you click to see
it?

What is the device?

Are you are telling me that if I have a machine runs OS/2 I can't ask a
Win 98 newsgroup about a another machine that runs Win 98?

Not that complicated. Control Panel -> Network -> Intel(R) PRO/100 LAN
+ Modem56 CardBus II - as I recall.

>What is the device?

A combo Intel PCI NIC/modem.

Of course not. I meant that a Windows 98 networking group is the
wrong place to ask a question about a machine that runs OS/2. Your
first message only mentioned OS/2. I apologize for misunderstanding.

Is the device working OK? If so, then I'd take the "No driver files
...." message at face value. If not, I'd go to Device Manager, remove
the device, reboot, and let Windows 98 reinstall it.

Actually that was only a sig on my OS/2 email program. (BTW, the
version came out a few months ago.)

Actually I had to remove the card, boot, power down, put the card back
and reboot.

Thanks.

You're welcome. I'm glad that you got the card to work.
