-- My wireless seems slow, and the log file has lots of messages like this,
with the port numbers constantly changing, and everything else the same:

2008/03/20 17:40:03 DeletePortMapping: ExternalPort:6389, TCP
2008/03/20 17:40:04 DeletePortMapping: ExternalPort:54266, UDP
2008/03/20 17:40:17 AddPortMapping: ExternalPort:28925, UDP,
InternalPort:16381, InternalClient:192.168.2.37
2008/03/20 17:40:17 AddPortMapping: ExternalPort:25059, TCP,
InternalPort:8684, InternalClient:192.168.2.37

Does anyone know what all this means?
Pete

The log file is NOT "Windows Messenger" (Barb Bowman IDIOT!) The log file
you are viewing is the file from your MN-700 Router! It post all activity
entries to a special file to help Networking Pros determine issues with the
Router (if any)... Such as ~> Connectivity with attached devices...ie. Cable
Modem, Wireless units (computers and devices) connected, Cable-Connected
units (connected via a cable to your router), Time-out Hosting of Generated
Address for the connected units, etc. It's a bit technical to explain, but
the router must track all of those events to process the signals from the
internet or other units connected to your network hub device that links them
(Which IS of course "The MN-700 Router").

those ports are added dynamically by applications like Windows
Messenger. Applications map ports in this manner.
