Does Linksys WPS54G print server work?

I found this January 2005 comment on CNET.

"Installations instructions flat out wrong. Knowledge base
not yet populated. Must call tech support. Disappointed that
claimed WPA support is not provided. Print spooling must be
disabled, so application sending job remains tied up until
near end of print run."

I note in various groups recent complaints about this print
server not working with a variety of printers and Linksys is
unwilling to provide a compatibility list. On linksys.com
there are dead links to user guide and data sheet.

Is anyone else having this kind of problem?

Has Linksys improved the product during the past year?

Aside from the pricey Apple Airport Extreme, is there a
better choice of print server for the home network?
