Does this happen when you

* log out of the FTP server?

* ensure you are not using a proxy?

* when you upload to other FTP servers (of course, you would need
access somewhere.

Helo All,
I have a linux box running as a gateway doing nat for my dialup and 2
other boxes. I've noticed that after a day or so of uptime, i am
unable to upload files via ftp to angelfire.com (for a webpage).
downloading works fine, but uploading hangs forever. It is very
strange. Does anyone know why this might be?

I thought angelfire might be doing traffic throttling during certain
times, but now I notice that a reboot of the gateway, and a new IP,
makes everything work again.

Thanks,

Have you looked in /var/log/messages, sounds like your ISP dialup has a
connect limit time.

If using Mandrake or Redhat, you maybe able to log into the gateway
box and do a service network restart instead of rebooting the box.
